Killingsworth Street
Killingsworth Street runs through
some of Portland’s most diverse
and exciting communities. East of
I-5, you’ll encounter the diverse
“Albina Crossing,” an international
mecca of sights, sounds and tastes
surrounding the PCC Cascade
Campus. The intersection of
Killingsworth and Martin Luther
King Jr. Boulevard is anchored by
Walnut Park, home to Reflections
Talking Drum Bookstore. Continuing
east, you’ll find Island Foods,
featuring a variety of fresh meats
and ethnic Caribbean fare, and One
Stop Records, a community asset
for almost 30 years. The Fox Chase
area at 30th Avenue boasts an
eclectic mix of boutiques, restaurants
and coffee shops, along with
pet and self-improvement products
and services.
Changing directions to visit businesses west of I-5, you will be offered many choices to satisfy your hunger pains. This section of Killingsworth has seen a rebirth of the entrepreneurial spirit, particularly reflected in the opening of several restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops and food carts. If you’re craving cannoli, pasta, sushi, crawfish pie, omelettes, espresso or something else just as yummy, check out what these great eateries have to offer. You can even get healthcare for yourself or your pet.
