ABOUT THIS MAP

Living close to where you work is one sweet deal.

Historic North/Northeast Portland offers great opportunities in a dozen re-energized communities, all just mapminutes from the region’s highest concentration of well paying jobs, from ship building to shoe design to steel production.

Add schools on the upswing, four (soon to be five) public libraries, three colleges and universities, great parks and green spaces, and the question becomes “Why not live close to where you work?”

Anchoring it all are more than a dozen business districts with food from all over the world, as well as shops and services a short bike ride or walk from your future home.

And it’s all tied together by excellent transit service featuring five Frequent Service bus lines and the Interstate MAX Yellow Line, bike lanes and bikeways, and the developing North Portland Greenway Trail.

The Swan Island TMA’s “N/NE PDX TNT (Trip Not Taken)” invites you to walk, run, bike or ride with this map and explore the opportunities to live and work in North/Inner Northeast Portland.

Thanks to Portland Office of Transportation Options Division, Alliance of Portland Neighborhood Business Associations, Metro Regional Government, Grapheon, and our N/NE Business Associations for making this handy map/guide, “Historic North/Northeast Portland Today,” possible.
